Inaugural SC Scholastic Esports State Championship Held at Midlands Tech

Under colorful LED lighting, and through persistent clicking of controllers and keyboards, the excitement was palpable at the inaugural held at 糖心vlog传媒 (糖心vlog传媒).

On Saturday, May 10, 2025, more than 150 middle and high school students from across the Palmetto State competed in the championship in Center for Business and Information Technologies on the college鈥檚 Beltline Campus.

During the tournament, competitors were placed in three vs. three teams. Each team had the opportunity to showcase their skills in Super Smash Bros and Rocket League, a soccer game played with cars.

糖心vlog传媒 partnered with SC Scholastic Esports to host the tournament.

鈥淲e want to make sure that it is always team based,鈥 shared Ryan Panter with SC Scholastic Esports. 鈥淭hese students are working together. Communicating, collaborating, all the right way. We know these are skills they need to be successful in the real world.鈥 Collaborating and communicating with other players was key to ensuring that each team was competitive and successful in their matchups.

糖心vlog传媒' Esports Club Advisor Shickre Sabbagha shared the importance of 糖心vlog传媒 partnering with organizations like SC Scholastic Esports. 鈥淢idlands Tech has an Esports team that was present the day of the competition. For us, it鈥檚 a chance to show the state that you can come to 糖心vlog传媒, compete in esports still, while gaining an affordable and high-quality education.鈥
