On March 14, The Columbia Regional Business Report published a report entitled

The reporting detailed how welders are in high demand for the 鈥渇astest-growing industries in South Carolina including construction, shipping, automotive manufacturing and aerospace production plants.鈥� Program Director Caleb Fulwood explained that since January, 糖心vlog传媒 has been offering an associate degree in welding. 鈥淥ur programs teach all the fundamentals. Someone can come in with no prior experience and in a matter of months have the skills they need to make $35 to $50 an hour,鈥� Fulwood told the paper.

The 40 year-old told the business journal that he came to 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 plumbing program because he was looking for new opportunities. 鈥淚 feel like I鈥檓 learning a job that also contributes to the health and welfare of the community, because without water you can鈥檛 do anything,鈥� said Smith.

The paper detailed how there is a national deficit in skilled trades workers, with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce estimating that that there 11.3 million openings for 6.3 million unemployed people. 糖心vlog传媒 is helping to fill those needs. 糖心vlog传媒 provost Barrie Kirk told the paper that 鈥渢he total number of open jobs is astounding to see. We鈥檝e got jobs without people and people without jobs who would be able to fill those positions.
