Women Making History at 糖心vlog传媒

March is Women鈥檚 History Month. Since 糖心vlog传媒 was founded in 1974, women have been integral to the success of our students, uplifting our entire community. We are proud to spotlight the professors and staff who are empowering our students to reach their full potential. Learn about their passion for their profession.

Bonnie Alger, Laura Baker, and Alice Davis

Together, this group of faculty and staff successfully designed and implemented the Faculty Learning Community, saving students $800K+ in its first year, while also increasing student success rates in a number of courses.

Baker, a longtime college librarian, said, "Nurturing a passion for learning and shaping student success is the most fulfilling aspect of my job as a librarian. It goes beyond simply finding books; it involves cultivating critical thinkers and individuals well-equipped to thrive in an ever-evolving world."

Davis, coordinator 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 college introduction courses, said, "I see my positioning in the world of education as a chance to be of service. After 26 years at 糖心vlog传媒, I still find joy and inspiration in our students and the opportunity to make their lives better."

Holly Beard 

Professor Holly Beard teaches in the college鈥檚 School of Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS). She previously served as Faculty Council chair and was recently promoted to SBS Department chair. Beard has been instrumental in many programs and activities that enrich the student experience, such as the college鈥檚 study abroad initiatives.

鈥淭eaching at 糖心vlog传媒 isn't just a job duty; it鈥檚 a passion-driven endeavor,鈥 said Beard. 鈥淚t's about inspiring, educating, and empowering students to realize their full potential. As a faculty member, I strive to cultivate critical thinking, instill a passion for lifelong learning, and equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in an ever-evolving world.鈥

Rose Heath

Rose Heath is a tireless advocate for 糖心vlog传媒 students. She serves in a non-traditional role for women as Program Manager for Advanced Manufacturing and Industrial Trades at CCE. Prior to that, she served as Project Director for a DOL grant, TechHire, a grant that provided an alternative pathway for students to obtain an in-demand, high-skilled IT position. Using her expertise and connections, Heath has been able to assist students with removing barriers to success.

鈥淚 aspire to enrich the lives of every student through every encounter,鈥 Heath said. 鈥淚n the face of life's myriad of challenges, I consciously try to cultivate a culture of positivity, support, and encouragement among students, faculty and staff.鈥

Amy Scully 

Under Amy Scully鈥檚 leadership, 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Corporate and Continuing Education (CCE) division continues to be the largest CCE program in the state 鈥 24% of all CCE training statewide is done at 糖心vlog传媒. She has help grow the largest apprenticeship program in the state and been recognized at the state and national levels for best practices in CCE. She is also instrumental in efforts to secure funding for students in the college鈥檚 QuickJobs programs, which provide workforce training quickly.

Scully said, "Working at 糖心vlog传媒 has been profoundly meaningful to me because it's more than just a job; it's a bridge between my upbringing and my career aspirations. From a young age, my parents taught me the value of giving back to the community and leaving a positive impact wherever I go. At 糖心vlog传媒, I've been able to seamlessly integrate this belief into my professional life. Every day, knowing that the work we do directly improves the lives of those we serve and uplifts our community, reinforces the importance of our mission and brings a sense of fulfillment that truly comes full circle."

Jessica Booth

Jessica Booth, Finance Director, is currently Treasurer of a national organization, . For years, she has played a key role in 糖心vlog传媒 receiving the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association for the last 27 consecutive years.

Stefanie Goebeler

Stefanie Goebeler, Associate Vice President for Marketing Communications, elevates the community college brand and awareness on a national level as a member of the ACC Commission on Public Relations Advocacy & Advancement. She is a Board member for Homeless No More, which works to stabilize, shelter and house families in the Midlands. She also provides vision and leadership for her department that creates national, regional, and local award-winning marketing communications and public relations initiatives.

Monica Wade 

As 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Principal Designated School Official (PDSO), Monica serves all of our non-citizen students at 糖心vlog传媒 from pre-enrollment to graduation and beyond, often connecting students to internal 糖心vlog传媒 services and external community resources. She is highly involved in local international community services, including participating in the annual International Festival and maintaining partnerships with surrounding colleges and universities. She is a member of the South Carolina Association of International Educators (SCAIE) and recently served a two-year term as Chair.
